As Mayor of the Town of Pouch Cove, I welcome you to our community. Our Town is very hospitable and offers much for visitors, such as hiking trails, kiddies park, berry picking, outdoor swimming, whale watching, the Marine Park with swimming/ outdoor activities and a Museum of our history. Cape St. Francis is the site of the former lighthouse and has wonderful scenic view of our coastline. Come join us for part of your vacation and have a wonderful time.

Learn to Run with Ray Will

Pouch Cove Recreation Summer Program 2010

Spread over seven weeks, our summer program was focused on providing a variety of recreational and leisure opportunities while educating children on the importance of healthy eating. Members of Pouch Cove Recreation would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to our eight staff members whose hard work and determination made our program a great success.

Recycling News Update
Submitted by pouchcove on Thu, 07/29/2010 - 10:59Residents of Pouch Cove are advised that on July 28th, a total of 2.4 tons (4800 lbs) of recyclable materials were collected. This amount is three times the amount collected on our very first curbside recycling pick-up.

Community Benefiting from Age-Friendly Grant

The town will engage in activities that include forming an age-friendly committee or team; evaluating community resources and assets; identifying community champions; determining challenges and opportunities; and, creating an action plan.
“Supporting our municipalities in enhancing their seniors’ programming and services is an important step in encouraging independence and self-reliance among our older population,” said Kevin Parsons, MHA for Cape St. Francis. “I am proud to be part of a government that recognizes the importance of and value in creating an age-friendly environment for this very important segment of our society.”
Curbside Recyling Program

Road Closure - Outer Cove
Submitted by pouchcove on Tue, 03/23/2010 - 11:42Please be advised that the Outer Cove bridge on Marine Drive will be replaced this year. Construction will start April 1, 2010 – August 31, 2010 ( may be extended) and therefore the road will be closed along Marine Drive at the bridge location. Detour signs will be posted but it may be advisable to advise your residents of this closure.
Torbay Bypass Nearing Finish Line
Submitted by pouchcove on Fri, 03/05/2010 - 13:25In preparation for the opening of the Torbay Bypass, a 1.4 kilometre section of Torbay Road, between RCAF Road and Karon Drive, will be widened from two lanes to five. This project will alleviate traffic congestion in the area. The Honourable Tom Hedderson, Minister of Transportation and Works, announced the tender call for this work today.
