hi did anyone ever found out any info from there family connections if those names i mention before were ever heard of ? Helen

Diana Emberley

My grandfather, Arthur William Hudson son of Matthew Hudson was born in Pouch Cove and immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in the 1920's. Judging from the family bible my Hudson ancestors settled in the area of Pouch Cove in the 1700's. I've never visited, but my brother has just returned and he and his family had a wonderful time.

Pouch Cove is the most beautiful place in the world, with the best people too.
My kids (Bailey and Seamus) are there now on vacation and I know they are having the best time of their lives.

The high heat storage capacity in the phase change from solid to liquid, and the advantageous phase change temperature of 32 °C (90 °F) makes this material especially appropriate for storing low grade solar heat for later release in space heating applications. In some applications the material is incorporated into thermal tiles that are placed in an attic space while in other applications the salt is incorporated into cells surrounded by solar–heated water. The phase change allows a substantial reduction in the mass of the material required for effective heat storage (83 calories per gram stored across the phase change, versus one calorie per gram per degree Celsius using only water), with the further advantage of a consistency of temperature as long as sufficient material in the appropriate phase is available.

Hi there, I have never met her. In fact, I've heard stories that one of my great uncles or great-grandfather was washed away at sea during a climb up the ladder on the cliff. My grandmother used to tell the story but I was very young at the time.

I grew up in Montreal and am now living in Calgary. I have never been to Pouch Cove but have heard of it many times and have lineage and family there whom I've never met. In fact, I've heard stories that one of my great uncles or great-grandfather was washed away at sea during a climb up the ladder on the cliff. My grandmother used to tell the story but I was very young at the time. Someday, I sincerely hope to visit and meet my distant relatives and take in the beautiful scenery and culture.

If you're reading this and your last name is Sullivan, drop me a line. I'd love to hear from you.

My grandmother was raised there back in the 1800s some time(when she was young) she was a O'Keeffe and her family came over from Cty Cork Ireland.. From there she moved to Boston. From what I understand from my mother her family were fishermen. Also have relatives by the name Furlong. She had received photos and a letter from them...I am trying to get more info on the O'keefes' with regard to Ireland and ansestry

I enjoyed your website and learning more about the quaint town of Pouch Cove, where my great-grandfather lived and raised his 10 children.

His name is Henry Castella (for whom Castella's Lane was probably named). He was born in Porto, Portugal and settled in Pouch Cove as a young lad.

I am looking for more information about him as part of my on-going paternal family search. I have information on his date of birth; marriage to Ellen Raines; and their dates of death. Both are buried in Pouch Cove. I would be very grateful to anyone who could share any information or stories about him they may have. Thank you. Some day I hope to visit Pouch Cove.
