The East Coast Trail is a coastal hiking experience that takes you to the outermost reaches of North America. The National Geographic has identified the East Coast Trail as one of the best adventure destinations in the world. The trail includes 540 km along the shores of the Avalon Peninsula of which 265 km are developed with trail signage, maps and supporting trail information.

From Pouch Cove you can go north or south for a great hike. If you are lucky you can see whales and icebergs. To the north the Biscan Cove Path goes to Cape St. Francis. At the cape is the site of the former community of Biscayan Cove and a lighthouse. Going south the Stiles Cove Path will take you all the way to the town of Flatrock. Stiles Cove marks the end of our town and is a nice destination if you do not want hike the entire trail.
