The Town’s Public Works staff will be conducting hydrant flushing over the next week. Hydrant flushing ensures the proper functioning of hydrants for fire fighting purposes and also allows for the purging of sediment that occasionally builds up within the Town’s water distribution system.
Residents and businesses may experience discolouration of their water from time-to-time as Public Works crews move through the Town and flush each hydrant. If this occurs, please run your cold water tap until clear water returns; avoid doing laundry and other washing while water is discoloured.
The expected completion of the flushing activity is around mid October. Town staff thank residents and businesses for their cooperation and understanding.
