2027 Public Budget Survey

Town Council wants to hear from you on the 2027 Budget!

Please take a few moments to fill out the survey below to share your opinion on the 2027 Pouch Cove budget with the Town Council.

2027 Budget Survey

The Town of Pouch Cove is preparing its 2027 Municipal Budget, and we want to hear from residents about the priorities that matter most to our community. Each year, Council must balance maintaining essential services and infrastructure with responding to community needs, planning for the future, and keeping municipal taxes and fees affordable. Your feedback will help Council better understand where residents would like to see investment prioritized, as well as areas where spending could be maintained, reduced, or approached differently. This short survey should take only a few minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous, and the feedback received will be summarized and provided to Council for consideration during the 2027 budget deliberations. We encourage all residents to take a few moments to share their thoughts and help inform the decisions that will shape our community in the year ahead.

You Set the Budget

Property taxes are based on two separate factors; First, The Municipal Assessment Agency (MAA), independent of the Town, determines the assessed value of properties in Pouch Cove. The Town does not determine property assessments. Second; each year Council sets the Town's mil rate as part of the municipal budget process. The mil rate is applied to the assessed value of a property (determined by the MAA) to calculate property tax. As a result, a change in a property's assessed value does not necessarily mean that Council has increased the mil rate.
When considering property tax affordability, which is MOST important in your opinion?*
If property assessments increase across the Town, which approach would you prefer Council consider when setting the 2027 mil rate?*
