In commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Water Witch tragedy, the Pouch Cove Heritage Society invites local and regional artists, artisans, and craftspersons to submit artworks for a special exhibition exploring the theme of Rescue.
We welcome works that engage with the historical and emotional significance of the Water Witch event, as well as those that reflect broader themes of courage, survival, and hope. Both new and existing works are eligible for submission.
Exhibition Date: July 19, 2025
Submission Details:
- Theme: Rescue
- Mediums Accepted: All media, including but not limited to painting, sculpture, photography, textile including quilting, and mixed media.
- Expression of Interest Due: April 30, 2025
- Images of Artwork Due: July 14, 2025
- Delivery of Selected Works: July 18, 2025
Additional Information:
- Artworks may be for sale–all proceeds go to the artists
- All works must be ready for display (framed or with appropriate hanging hardware)
- Artists may submit up to three pieces for consideration
- If space permits, selected works may be moved to another location for an extended exhibition period to increase public engagement
